Yanks Abroad: Barrera Joins FK Spartak Zlatibor Voda:
It was announced this week that midfielder Danny Barrera will be joining Serbian Super Liga club FK Spartak Zlatibor Voda on a transfer from the Ventura County Fusion of the PDL.
Barrera, 21, was a former midfielder for UCSB and has also previously played for the US Under-18 national team.
The Wikipedia entry for the team says, “The club was named FK Spartak Subotica until the end of season 2007-2008 Serbian League Vojvodina when it was merged with the club FK Zlatibor Voda who won promotion to Serbian First League thus gaining present name.” That made me wonder if this crest is right, since it still includes “Subotica”. But it matches current graphics on the club’s website, so it must be okay.
