Though the crest of El Salvador’s Isidro Metapan has been eliminated from this month’s FC Shirts United tournament, the team itself got off to a good start in its CONCACAF Champions League run:

Edwin Sanchez and Allan Dos Santos scored second-half goals and Isidro Metapan beat the Puerto Rico Islanders 2-0 on Wednesday in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League Preliminary Round series.

It was only the second win in 11 Champions League games for Metapan, which was eliminated in the Preliminary Round last year and in the inaugural season in 2008.
