The second leg of the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals start today. Sudamericana, if you’re not familiar with it, is Copa Libertadores’ little brother; the less prestigious South American cup competition (like Europa League is to Champions League).

Tonight’s game pits Brazil’s CR Vasco Da Gama against Peru’s Universitario de Deportes.

CR Vasca Da Gama Universitario de Deportes

A big, simple “U” in a circle has some benefits as a crest. It’s recognizable and straightforward, and certainly easy for fans to reproduce themselves. But while the minimalism is striking, I’m going to have to pick Vasco Da Gama in this one. It’s the interesting shield shape, with the nice white sash stripe across it, and of course the bold, adventurous explorer’s ship that make it. I pick the Brazilian side to win by at least 2.

Kickoff is at 6:50PM ET; you can watch live on Fox Deportes, or follow the matchcast on ESPN Soccernet.

Update: Yes! I called it: fulltime result was Vasco da Gama 5, Univertario 2. That’s a solid 3 points chalked up on the prediction scorecard.
